What server do we actually need?
Minimum: Ubuntu server with 4GB RAM and 2 CPU cores. For up to 50,000 constituents and moderate transaction volume, a $200/month VPS is sufficient. Your existing university hosting infrastructure likely exceeds these requirements.
What about Stripe fees?
Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction for cards, less for ACH. These fees apply on any platform you use — they're not a GiftSentry cost. The cost calculator shows platform costs only, separate from Stripe.
Is there a per-seat or per-donor fee?
No. There are no per-seat fees for staff users, no per-donor fees, and no limits on the number of constituents or gift records you store. You pay for hosting infrastructure only.
What does the 30-day proof-of-concept cost?
The POC is priced as part of your engagement discussion. For founding partner institutions, we offer favorable POC terms in exchange for honest feedback and co-development input. Contact us to discuss what's appropriate for your institution's size and scope.
Are AI features (OpenAI) an extra cost?
You'll need your own OpenAI or xAI API key. API costs for typical advancement operations (donor research, email generation, workflow assistance) are modest — usually $50–200/month depending on usage volume.
