Technical Requirements

What you need to self-host.

GiftSentry deploys via Docker Compose. Your IT team can have it running in approximately two hours with our deployment playbook.

Server
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or newer. Minimum 4GB RAM, 2 CPU cores. Recommended: 8GB RAM, 4 cores for production. Docker and Docker Compose installed. 443 and 80 ports exposed.
Database
PostgreSQL 15+ (included in Docker Compose stack). Minimum 20GB disk for constituent data and gift history. We provide automated backup configuration and migration scripts for each release.
Domain & SSL
A registered domain name pointing to your server. Caddy (included) handles SSL automatically via Let's Encrypt. Cloudflared tunnel option available for zero-port-forward deployment behind a firewall.
Third-party keys
Stripe secret + webhook keys. Google OAuth credentials (for Ads, GA4, Calendar). OpenAI or xAI API key for AI features. Resend API key for email. All stored encrypted at rest.
Environments
The Docker Compose stack supports multiple named environments: web-production, web-staging, web-playground-*, and web-ops. Each runs in isolation with its own PostgreSQL instance.
Monitoring
Ops cron runner probes all registered deployments every 5 minutes. Health snapshots stored in PostgreSQL. Threshold-based email alerting with configurable recipients and alert silencing for maintenance windows.
